Coco Dal Balls
Coco Dal Balls are sweet yellow dal balls made with cooked mung dal, flavored with essential oils and sweetened with agave syrup or coconut sugar. These balls offer a unique twist on the traditional dal dish, demonstrating that lentils can be transformed into a delightful dessert.
Once, while visiting a friend who was unfamiliar with cooking dal, I decided to teach her not only how to prepare a savory dal but also how to make these sweet Coco Dal Balls. She was absolutely delighted by the soft tenderness and sweet flavor of the dessert.
Mung dal, known as "Green Gram" in Sanskrit, is a highly nutritious lentil celebrated for its antioxidant, anti-diabetic, antimicrobial, anti-hyperlipidemic, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties. This ancient legume has been treasured in Ayurvedic cuisine for centuries, valued not only for its complete protein profile but also for its ability to balance all three doshas.
Nutritional Benefits: Mung dal is rich in protein, fiber, folate, and magnesium, supporting digestive health and blood sugar regulation. Its antioxidant properties help combat inflammation while providing sustained energy for the body.
