Coco Gram Marbles
Who doesn't love chickpeas? These tiny protein-rich legumes are perfect for every dish and every individual. When we blend them into gram flour, we create a versatile ingredient that can be incorporated into any recipe you desire. Chickpeas offer a mild, nutty flavor, and the flour obtained by grinding dried chickpeas serves as a gluten-free alternative to wheat flour—one that you can easily prepare at home and has recently gained worldwide appeal.
When we made these Coco Gram Marbles during an Ayurvedic massage course at our Yoga center in Sintra, Portugal, the desserts were quickly devoured during break time. The combination of coconut flakes and gram flour creates marbles that help keep added sugars to a minimum while delivering satisfying sweetness.
You might have heard of polyphenols—antioxidants present in considerable amounts in gram flour. These compounds combat free radicals, especially those generated from processed foods, thereby improving overall health and performance. Moreover, wheat flour typically contains more calories than gram flour, making gram flour a preferable choice for a nutrient-dense, lower-calorie option.
Another unique benefit of chickpea flour is its ability to help control hunger by moderating ghrelin, the hunger hormone. Lower ghrelin levels promote a feeling of fullness, which in turn can help manage body weight naturally.
