Tranquilizer Juice
In 2011, during my time in Brasilia, Brazil, a friend and colleague who owns a vegetarian sattvic food restaurant called Terraviva invited me to create and improve the recipes on his menu. It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce some new exotic Asian recipes to his customers. Creating new recipes is always a delightful challenge for any chef because it involves sourcing fresh ingredients and exploring unique flavor combinations.
This journey allowed me to tour the region's enormous fresh markets, selecting an array of fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, herbs, and other ingredients to craft what would become our tranquilizer juice. A few months earlier, my friend had asked for help with weight loss, so I set him on my weight loss detox program. He went from 105 to 90 kilos in 30 days, transforming his health through conscious eating.
His new breakfast routine included fresh fruit and vegetable juices, particularly passion fruit juice blended with oranges, which he enjoyed just before driving to the market. On one of these drives, I found myself dozing off for a few minutes—highly unusual for me. Another friend, noticing me nodding off, suggested that the passion fruit juice might be responsible and mentioned experiencing the same calming effect.
After researching this phenomenon, I discovered that passion fruit is rich in tranquiline—a naturally occurring compound that brings a profound calming effect to the nervous system. This revelation helped us understand why this particular juice combination was so effective for relaxation and recovery. My friend's children were inspired by their father's determination and later joined another juice detox program, each losing between 13 to 15 kilograms in 30 days.
Try this natural tranquilizer juice and feel how it gently relaxes your entire body and mind, while providing deep nourishment for your system.
